Volunteering at Austin is easy and fun! The faculty, staff, and parents welcome anyone who would like to donate time and talents to our school. We have clinic moms, Lunch Bunch parents who monitor students' cafeteria needs and even get to wear an apron, media helpers, committees, tutors, and more! Dads and Grandparents are encouraged to sign up and join the fun and excitement of daily life at school, tool. The state of Georgia recently passed a law expanding the listing of persons who are now categorized as mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. This list now includes anyone who volunteers in a school.

To assist with ensuring that all school volunteers are aware of the new responsibility and penalties associated with non-compliance,  all volunteers are required by law to go through a brief training presentation (5 min) created by Dekalb County on the mandatory reporting of abuse and neglect and what it means to be a mandated reporter.

The training MUST be completed before volunteering.  You MUST also complete the form below stating that you have watched the video presentation and understand your obligations as a mandated reporter of child abuse.
